  I was interpreter 303, when SVRS first opened in the Twin Cities. I was the first to sign on full-time at SVRS and I did so because I wanted to be a part of creating an atmosphere of supportive and uplifting professionalism. I had the luxury of sitting with and training countless numbers of interpreters from all around the Twin Cities and from other locations in the country. It was at SVRS in that role, that I learned what an honor it was to support and coach someone as they were about to take a leap. In this case it was about venturing out into a (then) new kind of interpreting. There was nothing like it. I created a project called "Precision Jetsons," an examination of call management and customer service strategies and challenges. This kind of project laid a foundation of interest in problem-solving and solution oriented thinking. It was very satisfying and successful. Show less

This is important to my work with interpreters because for an interpreter to be truly trusted and effective, we become experts at setting ourselves to the side - speaking for others - we learn to disengage from our urge to react, have opinions and express emotions. Unless we are very intentional about it, we are at risk of having this impact our lives in a broader way. Chances are, if you are an interpreter, you know what I'm saying. Coaching with me is a way to set the course for a life that is fully lived and reconnecting to what's important to you. The agenda is yours and together we work toward your goals.
