PERSONAL STATEMENT.I bring 45 working years of experience to those I now work for and serve. My working arena has been construction but we are more than our working arena. Development and betterment has always been my drive. It is in my nature and previously having mastered one area of construction, I have then used that experience to press on to new learning goals, whether that has been a second, third or fourth skill set, supervision, management, assessing, educating and then the development of others and companies. Three key development changes: The first, which was the greatest developmental change, was to stop work as a tradesman and to go to University. I did this at the age of 38 and studied Pastoral Theology. I graduated after three years with a first class honours degree. This was my first qualification. Apart from the subject matter, University taught me to understand the learning process and I have been passing on that knowledge ever since. The second developmental change was when I laid down my professional construction management duties to become a teacher and assessor to the construction industry. My realisation was as a person, I was better equipped to come alongside, teach and educate than I was to be financially programme driven; people orientated rather than task or commercially driven. The third developmental change was when in partnership with a close friend in 2009, we created RivaSure.co.uk. an online learning and assessment platform which has enabled us together to assist hundreds of individuals to gain trade, supervision, management and professional construction qualifications and professional recognition. Currently we are still developing products and services based on giving appropriate timely guidance and support, enabling non-academics to gain professional construction academic management and trade qualifications. We are able to do this remotely on line and in person. As an external NVQ assessor at South Kent College and the Birmingham NVQ Assessment Training centre he has assessed level 2-3 trades, including steel fixing, ground works, carpentry, brick work, roofing operations and levels 3-7 supervisory and construction management candidates.William brings to his teaching and assessment roles a depth of managerial and trade experience.
