  Content Advisers are the most senior dedicated committee support Staff at the National Legislature. They are responsible for legislative, policy and operational advice to parliamentary committees with regards to committee strategic planning, oversight and legislative review. The current committee oversees the following Departments' provincial competencies:Rural Development and Land Reform;Environmental Affairs;Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; andMineral Resources. The main responsibility of committee researchers is to provide content support (research papers, presentations, oversight technical support) for their respective committees, as well as respond to any information requests from members of parliament. The SC on Land and Environmental Affairs oversees the activities of the Departments of Mineral Resources; Rural Development and Land Reform; Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries and Environmental Affairs in all nine provinces of South Africa.
