Sought out to take on the ownership of the UK and Ireland business’s core pricing system.• Established necessary IT disciplines in the overall management of the platform, creating a centre of expertise and support capability• Identified and drove a modernisation and re-platforming program to de-risk the sensitive business operation• Led a cost reduction and service delivery improvement program that resulted in annual savings of over $0.5MIdentified and executed a program to re-platform the Zurich implementation of third party software and its interfaces. Improved resilience and disaster recovery capability for reduced cost whilst simultaneously establishing a new operational model and headcount. Implementing these fundamental changes improved service delivery and resulted in annual savings of over $0.5M. Show less Zurich had launched its principal online platform supporting all quotes and new business submissions and was initially brought in to stabilise and establish its operation. Constant success in managing the platform – driving down costs while improving service delivery and project implementation success rates – resulted in the role expanding to take over project delivery program management as well. At peak this meant managing a team of 50+ people (on shore and off shore) and an annual budget of over $20M. This period was characterised by on time, in budget, safe delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects. In driving platform maturity identified and executed cost saving initiatives to remove over $1.5M of operational expense primarily through a combined hardware refresh and data centre move. Show less An outsourcing deal had been signed to hand the ownership and operations of Zurich’s entire European network and telecommunications infrastructure to a new partner. As this included a complete technology refresh, was made responsible for UK implementation which required the building of a team to manage the requirements, risks, communications, implementation and benefits realisation of a program that would impact every single person in the organisation. Defining processes, establishing strong stakeholder networks and focusing on zero negative business impact resulted in a string of successful, business enhancing implementations while reducing operational expense by 20%.
