OI is used by applications like AAM(Advanced Alarm Management) to visualize data over a period of time(Trend), to plot graphs, charts for data. While OI has clients to support various database drivers like OPC, EDNA, SQL, unlike MES which supports only OPC data. This application has a feature to plot events (alarms, acknowledgments, etc…) from an event source like Matrikon’s A & E, this feature was developed as a WCF service.
