      Bachelor’s Degree Political Science

      Activities and Societies: Associated Student Government, Phi Beta Kappa, Honors College Ambassadors, Students for a Free Tibet With a major in Political Science and a minor in Sociology I am particularly interested in human rights and group dynamics in governments and communities. I participated in the TEXT (Tibetans in Exile Today) study abroad program offered through the University of Arkansas twice during the summers of 2013 and 2015. This oral history program provides students the opportunity to document the stories of Tibetans living in exile in India.

      Provided customer service and equipment rentals to students and other University Recreation members. Taught a variety of adult group fitness classes including yoga (200-hr RYT certified), PiYo, and Hip-Hop through University Recreation. Class sizes ranged from 2-35 participants. In addition to providing a fun and challenging routine, I always strive to teach proper form and healthy habits that participants can utilize outside of fitness classes.

      Corps Member

      Teach for America is a highly selective AmeriCorps program that provides an alternative certification process for professionals with a bachelor’s degree to become licensed teachers. Corps members work for two years in an Title I school while participating in additional coaching and leadership training. I taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, and self-contained Special Education at Walt Whitman Elementary in the Tulsa Public School District. During my time at Whitman, I also served as the PBIS team lead and coordinated events to elevate school culture and foster joy for students and staff. Show less

Ensuring consistent SEL practices for Tulsa students, staff, and families through school leader planning and implementation practices, teacher coaching, and SEL resource creation and management. As a special education teacher for students with emotional disturbance at Hamilton Elementary, I worked to provide my students with a rigorous education and push them to set the bar high for themselves both academically and personally.I also worked at Walt Whitman Elementary in Tulsa Public Schools from 2016-2018.       Health Club Lead Educator

      Provided after school academic support and led activities centered around exercise, healthy eating, mindfulness, and community health. Youth at Heart, in partnership with Whitman Elementary, offers an after school program to 100 K-6 students that provides homework help, recreation, and a variety of different club experiences to students at Walt Whitman Elementary in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
