  Teach for America is a highly selective AmeriCorps program that provides an alternative certification process for professionals with a bachelor’s degree to become licensed teachers. Corps members work for two years in an Title I school while participating in additional coaching and leadership training. I taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, and self-contained Special Education at Walt Whitman Elementary in the Tulsa Public School District. During my time at Whitman, I also served as the PBIS team lead and coordinated events to elevate school culture and foster joy for students and staff. Show less

Youth at Heart, in partnership with Whitman Elementary, offers an after school program to 100 K-6 students that provides homework help, recreation, and a variety of different club experiences to students at Walt Whitman Elementary in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
