  • Experience

    • Edina market and deli

      Jun 2004 - Jul 2006
      Stocker

My core role was to maintain the stock of products in the cooler. Rotating items as needed, and ensuring that it stayed organized. I was also tasked with odd jobs; such as cleaning the floors, taking out the garbage, washing windows, or making coffee and food as needed. Typical first-job duties.

    • Motorwerks bmw/mini

      Aug 2006 - Apr 2012
      Detail technician

I prepared new vehicles to be delivered to the customer, prepared vehicles for display on the showroom, and refurbished used vehicles prior to being listed for sale. The majority of the vehicles were all high-end models and brands, which attracts a clientele with higher standards. Throughly cleaned vehicles will always fetch a higher price. This makes the Detail Tech a valuable asset to the success of the dealership, and Used Car Department especially. When a polished and professional presentation is critical to the continued success of the business, the appearance of its products is crucial. Clientele in the market for a high-end automobile can take their car buying dollar anywhere, so every effort was to be made to maintain a professional appearance. Show less

    • Target

      Jun 2012 - Aug 2013
      Overnight stockroom

I assisted with the logistics of incoming freight in the warehouse of a store averaging daily sale in the low-to-mid $200,000. This put it among the highest volume locations of the over 1,700 Target stores in the the United States.Working overnights (10pm-8am) allowed the free movement of freight around the store for flow team members which wouldn't be feasible during regular business hours. Because of my recognized reliability and attention to detail, I was cross-trained in several different specialized areas to be as flexible as possible.I took this job as preparation for working in law enforcement. Working overnight shifts would allow me to become acquainted with sleeping during the day. Being on my feet and lifting boxes allowed me to build strength and endurance. Show less

Building from the expected roles I performed as both Patrol Deputy and Sergeant, I am tasked with ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly for department staff. The better equipped and trained our staff the better we can perform this important service. To that end, I strongly encourage every new deputy to find areas of law enforcement that interest them. Each deputy brings a unique skillset to our team, so I wish to build on those skills by encouraging them to continue their personal and professional development. Supporting our staff in their journey to become a more well-rounded person not only helps them become more employable in the future, it also helps them become a more valuable resource to our agency and the community in the present. Between December 2013 and June 2019, I was certified through the State of North Dakota as an Emergency Medical Responder. I maintained EMR status until receiving my NR-EMT certification in 2019.
