      After receiving his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois, Mr. Brim interned and subsequently became Project Manager for the office of Footlik Rose. His experience was widespread in the development of housing units for many well known builder developers. Jerrold was responsible for most of the firm's private single family custom homes as well as unique projects including renovations of the original Comiskey Park, the Chicago Stock Exchange and a number of commercial and banking facilities.       In 1967, Jerrold Brim conceived, initiated and was the sole proprietor responsible for the multi-tasking of administrative, marketing, design, contract document and construction administration duties in his first entrepreneurial experience. Jerrold Brim also set the pace and tone for the firm's growth and direction. Jerrold was credited for significant amounts of market sensitive and award winning work of various large scale single and multi-family housing developers and was one of the first architects in this area to lead developer/design,/legal/ and financial teams through, the then early use of Planned Unit Development approaches to zoning and planning assignments. These efforts credentialized Mr. Brim as a highly qualified municipal developer representative. Mr. Brim obtained his NCARB certification and practice licenses in Florida, Indiana, Iowa and Wisconsin as partial results of these efforts. Show less

      After two years of a sole proprietor practice, Jerrold Brim joined with Sherwin Braun to form Brim/Braun Associates. During this time he was fully responsible for administrative, financial, marketing, public relations & design tasks. He was instrumental in growing the firm encompassing significant high grade custom single family housing, developer led residential communities, multi-family Planned Unit Developments, new & renovated shopping centers & retail stores, low & high rise office building complexes, site planning of office & industrial complexes, ecclesiastical projects & other unique projects requiring sensitive & customized solutions. Jerrold was instrumental in developing an allied landscape & planning firm partnering with Wayne Mocci, and expanded the firm's expertise in municipal public space project design, private development planning designs, P.U.D.'s and smaller quality private projects. Jerrold also expanded the firm's exposure by becoming active in many architectural and building organizations such as the American Institute of Architects, the Society of Registered Architects, the North Side Architects Club, the Greater Chicagoland Home Builders Association and other code and industry related groups. He served as president of the Illinois Chapter of ARA and sat on its National Board. Jerrold Brim also lead the team's entry into the process of teaming with other development partners for both land and building development. The most notable of these were Charles Place, Lockwood Center, 500 Davis Center and the River Run Shopping Center. During this time, Jerrold Brim was appointed to a series of public municipal positions as chairman of appearance, sign and beautification committees and provided authoring of numerous sign and appearance codes. He served the Village of Morton Grove for 14 years and was positioned as a consultant to Buffalo Grove for an additional time frame. In the interim, work of the firm was also extended to both coasts.       Jerrold initiated Sertex, Ltd., which was a firm "designed" to service a variety of architectural and related real estate industry assignments. Jerrold Brim obtained both his salesman and real estate broker's license in Illinois and proceeded to develop small and mid-sized residential and commercial projects. A number of specialty retail, office and commercial projects were serviced with other adjunct architects where necessary.       After two (2) years of rebuilding an architectural practice with Sertex, Ltd., Jerrold Brim joined the firm of Bernheim & Kahn as a primary partner in charge of design, administration and marketing. The combination proved fruitful in marketing, development and execution of high line office, retail, entertainment and shopping center projects. Jerrold Brim led the firm's selected architectural teams in a variety of high level retail,commercial and entertainment venues.

      Organized in 1989, this firm operated similarly to its previous counterpart, Sertex, Ltd., Mr. Brim served as the architectural managing partner and real estate property manager of the highly successful River Run Shopping Center. He performed these tasks for approximately seventeen (17) years before its eventual sale. Jerrold exhibited skills in redevelopment programs and adding to and retrofitting existing buildings.       Jerrold Brim consistently grew his firm since it was initiated in 1967. Through his leadership the firm became more environmentally conscious. This was accomplished by exercising his past professional experiences with his current education as a LEED AP. Jerrold also works diligently and offers services related to impaired mobility and interior re-design. He is especially attuned to the needs and accommodations of senior citizens as well as the physically disabled, their environs and accessibility requirements. He studies and applies technical documentation advances, materials usages and focuses on "green" community principles. Jerrold believes in creative, yet functional residential and commercial design and re-design. Mr. Brim maintains his firm's historical scope and quality of hands-on services within multiple types projects. The firm uses drawing technology to visually show clients three dimensional observations for their review. He focuses and emphasizes interior architectural design and adaptive reuse. He does so through the unique uses of interior volumes, masses, natural and artificial light sources. These contribute to major design statements enhanced with color, material selection and cabinet millwork designs. Show less
