      As a Teaching Assistant, I facilitated materials science experiments that encompassed a range of key topics. In the Hall effect experiments, I guided students through measurements of electrical conductivity and carrier mobility, helping them understand charge carrier behavior in materials. In the context of solar cells experiments, I assisted students in constructing and analyzing photovoltaic devices, enabling them to grasp the principles of light-to-electricity conversion. Additionally, during potentiometer experiments, I provided hands-on guidance as students investigated electrochemical processes and gained insights into potential differences and electrode reactions. My role encompassed not only supervising the experiments but also explaining theoretical concepts, troubleshooting equipment, and fostering a comprehensive learning experience for students.       • Demonstrated that interlayer van der Waals interactions in MoS₂-based heterostructures can tune the band gap by up to 0.54 eV (e.g. reducing MoS2 band gap from 1.78 eV to 1.24 eV in MoS2/BlackP), highlighting the role of quantum confinement and hybridisation effects.• Achieved a high short-circuit current density (7–9 mA/cm²) and a maximum open-circuit voltage of 1.68 V for the MoS2/InSe type-II heterojunction, resulting in an energy conversion efficiency of 5.10%, which is an order of magnitude higher than conventional atomically thin film solar cells.• Provided quantitative insights into the optical performance with absorbance reaching up to 29% at 450 nm, offering a promising route for designing ultra-thin solar cells with superior photon absorption capabilities.
