  Bio:I danced and trained as a student of the Greensboro Ballet from ages ten to seventeen under Maryhelen Mayfield and John Dennis. I trained pre-proffesionally and as an apprentice to the company from 2011 through 2014, and spent two years with the Youth Ensemble there before that. Over the course of my career I attended summer programs and festivals at University North Carolina School of the Arts, and Ballet Magnificat! while training under ballet/contemporary dance masters who danced with companies such as American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Complexions, and Alvin Ailey being a few. During this time I trained predominantly in Classical Ballet Technique and Pointe with classes in Jazz and Modern as well. I had some hip-hop, african dance, and ballet partnering exposure in the summers. -In the fall of 2014 I moved to Jackson, MS to study dance and pursue a bachelors degree at Belhaven University. While there I studied Classical Ballet, Pointe, and Modern technique, as well as improv and contact improv classes.-At Belhaven I danced with the Dance Ministry Ensemble performing works choreographed by Jinyoung Lee Hanley, Cynthia Newland, and understudying for Laura Morton. With the Ensemble I ministered and shared the light and hope of Jesus Christ to kids in orphanages and people in nursing homes.In 2015 I stopped dancing en-pointe and began a dance-hiatus to re-focus and re-discover my love for the art form.Experience:- 6 years of pointe training- 10 years of ballet training in Vaganova, Cecchetti, and some Balanchine-6 years of Jazz training in a combination of styles with some african dance/contemporary-lyrical influence- 2 years of solid modern training in Cunningham based, as well as some Horton and Graham with a large focus on release technique- Experience performing in schools, nursing homes, and other non-traditional locations - Dance in productions such as The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Balanchine's Serenade Show less
