  Vermont's Premier Stress Reduction Center Created by Nurses in 1994... and ended in 2011Peace of Mind Emporium, Vermont's Premier Stress Reduction Store and Educational Center, was created in 1994 on Route 4 East in Rutland Vermont, by Nurses who wanted to create an Oasis for people experiencing life stressors, health challenges, crisis and bereavement. People from all walks of life came to experience shopping, massages and holistic therapies, workshops, classes, and special events. Partnerships and friendships were forged with nationally and internationally recognized authors, musicians and artists. Over 10,000 massages and health services were performed, and over 1000 classes and workshops were attended. Books, music, jewelry, inspirational gifts and healthful products were showcased in a magical healing space. Our National Award Winning Center welcomed people from all over the world for over 17 years!In October 2011 following Hurricane Irene's devastation on August 28, 2011, our building was sold to the State of Vermont to create a Command Center to coordinate road and bridge repairs to over 350 miles of destroyed highways in Vermont. ... over 80 engineers and road supervisors worked 24/7 to repair and rebuild in record time... moving mountains of stone and dirt and asphalt! Peace of Mind Emporium business and store closed in 2011, but lives on in all the heartsof supporters and neighbors who visited throughout the years. We will be grateful for the wonderful peace it offered to all who entered through its doors. The founder and visionkeeper, Julie A White RN MSN continues to counsel, offer workshops, and meets regularly with Peace of Mind customers, lightworkers, and Professional Colleagues to send prayers for PEACE for the planet, and Healing and Compassion for each other.
