    • GENESIS CONSULTORIA EN GEOLOGIA SAS

      Jun 2013 - Mar 2014
      Junior Petrophysicist

      - I helped characterizing the system of natural fractures in clastic rocks and we issued recommendations for better production of opened intervals in pay zones, integrating geological interpretations and wellbore image logs.- I applied multi-mineral models to evaluate mud-rocks and carbonate reservoirs located in Magdalena Basin (Colombia) reducing the high uncertainty in lithology and fluids quantification. (SEM-XRD and capillary pressure curves integration).- I contributed to the study of the geology-stratigraphy and properties of non-conventional reservoirs, particularly computing brittleness index and mapping “Fracturing trends" in Western Llanos Basin (Colombia). Process Analyst

      - Contributed to the documentation of procedural guides (processes documentation) for tasks automation using BPM for the production department- Metapetroleum Corp. Pacific E&P. (Bogota-Colombia) and Pacific offshore Peru. Pacific E&P. (Lima-Peru).

    • Pacific Rubiales Energy

      Apr 2014 - Aug 2016
      Petrophysicist

      - Interpreted around 150-200 wells drilled in Upper Magdalena Valley, Putumayo and Llanos Basins-Colombia, producing the main rock properties for reservoir static modelling.-Applied multivariate regression analysis, neural networks and other statistical tools to improve permeability predictions, calibrated against core data (RCAL and SCAL) reducing prediction errors by 20-50%. - Integrated NMR and dielectric logs to confirm oil saturations, hydrocarbon volumes and favorable mobility in overlooked pay zones.- Proposed (as multidisciplinary team) locations for water, polymer and surfactant injection projects in mature volatile oil/heavy oil fields.- Monitored well logging operations during 2014-2015 drilling campaign, producing quick-look interpretations during real-time operations, for completion purposes of appraisal and development wells. Logs interpreted included triple combo; special logs including dielectric, wellbore image, nuclear magnetic resonance, Cased hole (Cement evaluation), sampling and pressures.- Worked alongside commercial rock laboratories, to sample core plugs for routine and special core analysis, using well logs and core information. The work involved visiting the oilfield rigs to monitor coring operation and rock preservation, visiting labs to assure core quality and integrity and the correct implementation of procedures for reservoir characterization.
