  My primary responsibilities changed through the course of working at the hostel. At first I was simply a volunteer, this led to head volunteer with increased confidence in my abilities. The aim of this was to act as the bridge between higher management and the helpers where information and responsibilities could be clearly managed and understood. Working as a volunteer, the chief responsibilities included bar tending, client interaction and general cleaning and maintenance of the hostel. Event hosting was at the discretion of the volunteers and special nights were designed for the clients, including music nights, bbq nights and other social events for the clients satisfaction.Through working at the hostel my responsibilities increased where I learnt the receptionist position. Primarily greeting and welcoming the clients to the hostel, this position also included merchandising for the hostel and handling money in the case of acting cashier for both bar and reception. I also helped in advertising the hostel, promoting it's existence through social media and other useful systems such as Google Adwords. Designing posters, information leaflets and general computer maintenance with advancing internet infrastructure, teaching English and learning basic Spanish it was generally a highly productive experience.
