I left this position with a heavy heart as I had enjoyed my time there. My role as a design engineer consisted of maintaining and creating the company’s drawings, documentations & projects development. The duties in part include; • Designing models and manufacturing drawings across Cathelco’s MGPS & ICCPs product range, following best engineering practices such as BSO/ISO standards. • Creating technical documentation for customers such as installation, operation & maintenance manuals. • Frequently Liaising with suppliers and performing R&D for new high value products. Constantly involved in reviewing internal procedures and current drawings to optimise efficiency and accuracy. • Creating reports on NPD, after basic FEA analysis & design stage.• Supporting technical team with engineering advice, analysis & trouble shooting.• Ensuring accurate BOM’s are created in line with approved CAD drawings & updating business management software (SAP) to maintain accurate technical records. • Visits to see agents, customers & shipyards, providing support, guidance & troubleshooting.
