  Estate Management is under Department of Physical Planning Housing & Estate Management. I was attached in this division for period of 6months .Being at head quarters overseeing more than 10 villiages in terms of property management it was a big shoe for me but i managed to fit in . From the first i had to know all properties that the council manages in the whole district which i did when updating staff housing Rent register, leases that the council has . Open spaces .and other facilities which the council owns . Knowing Departments which work hand in hand with Estate made understand more of modules i learnt from the University , Town & Country Planning module, property management, Building & Construction just to name a few.Key areas or task i performed Updating Rent Register / Rent Reconciliaton Monthly Deduction schedule House inspectionsApplication of leases & renewal Site visit for construction worksAttended PPCAttended Building Control meeting Payment plan of house Rent Arrears & collectionWater & sanitation services intallation SHHA - Turnkey project / Home ImprovementAssessment Criteria & requirements.Process of submitting building plan House Rental Audit Outsourcing Houses for staff I travelled almost all areas in the District from Makalamabedi down to Kwaii in the Okavango Delta .and from Sehithwa upto Gudigwa updating rent register , collection of Arrears . Updating House occupation & vacation details . I learnt different thing and i didnt limit myself to my office only i went to other offices which work hand with Estate division , from Arch& Buildings , Finance, Economic planning, Physical planning,And other offices in the council .
