  Research Engineer

  Funded by the Australian government and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, I worked in a project to develop HC-PCF based gas sensors for industrial applications. Duties & Achievements• Developed Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models to simulate the gas flow that identifies the performance of fibre-optic based gas sensors• Optimized the design parameters of HC-PCF based gas sensors by Finite Element Analysis (FEA)• Developed several prototypes of fibre-optic based gas sensors and tested in lab condition• Managed full project including data collection, data analysis and decision making autonomously • Prepared technical reports, participated in meetings, shared best practices with colleagues, and documented information in compliance with legislation, regulations, and laboratory policies• Collaborated and worked alongside with top industry experts; i.e.: Worked for three months in the Photonic Sensors Lab in Hong Kong• Mentored undergraduate students for final year thesis• Presented my work in 2 international conferences (won 1 best presentation award) Show less
