Duties to include managing patron conduct, maintaining order, managing staffing issues due to shortages or other concerns. - As Safety Officer: run fire drills, assisted in branch level Safety inspections, and provide safety information to the staff, designed and implemented Emergency Pocket Guide, worked closely with Facilities department to effect change and update current policies and procedure. - Served as Union Shop Steward to include recruitment, playing a vital part in negotiations, clerical maintenance of member databases, contact membership with notification of meetings and changes to contract, and serve as consultant on disciplinary actions and policies within the contract. - Served as supply person for the branch, ordering from Staples, Demco, and Brodart. Managed budget. Worked closely with Machabee Office Environments to procure custom end panels for branch. - Maintenance of the collection, including deselection for currency, content, condition and circulation; light repair of materials. - Collection building using a variety of interfaces - Formulated and instructed basic computer courses, including Basic Computers, Microsoft Word, Internet, Email and Microsoft Excel, Applying for Jobs Online Parts I & II - Implementation and maintenance of Access database tracking periodicals in the library. - Work closely with the IT team and Facilities Department to troubleshoot and resolve problems.   - Attend 2012 National Library Legislative Day as NLA representative advocating for legislation on literacy, funding and security, working closely with colleagues to advocate for federal legislative issues concerning funding and legislation. - Implementation and development, in cooperation with NLA Board members, of the 2nd Annual SnapShot Day an advocacy program that will assist in providing the stories, documentation and photos of library users across the state to be used during advocacy work on state and federal levels.- Begin process to streamline NLA board activities including working to make volunteer board members less financially responsible for the organization. - Working with the NLA Board to increase benefits to library professionals, support staff and trustees by way of continuing education and professional development. - Conference Planning for 2012 Annual Conference to be held at Sahara West Library.
