  Meridian is New Zealand’s largest electricity generator, by installed capacity. The Support Analyst is a 17-month contract position, created to assist the Senior Analyst during the implementation of two large electricity market initiatives (introducing financial transmission rights and commissioning a new HVDC interconnecting link). In my capacity as Support Analyst I:• Priced over the counter financial contracts with Transpower during the HDVC commissioning project• Undertook analysis and created reports to provide hedge recommendations to protect Meridian’s contract position during transmission outages• Created weekly reports summarising Meridian and competitor electricity spot market performance • Used process mapping tools to update and maintain the Energy Trading team’s business processes • Coordinated handover of transmission/ plant outage information between the Transmission team and the Trading team Show less
