My first assignment with Crothal: Hospital Services Inc. - nonprofit organization - provides healthcare linen services for owner hospitals and other healthcare facilities from Columbia, South Carolina area, since 1972. Hired as Chief Engineer to provide engineering support in an effort to increase overall plant efficiency and update plant infrastructure. Manage the maintenance budget over $1MM: repair and maintenance, labor, utilities, contracts etc. Responsible for hiring, training, and evaluate performance of maintenance technicians. Responsible for handle all equipment maintenance, and facility aspects, as well as, compliance to local, state and federal environmental offices (HazMat, DHAC) and safety (OSHA) matters. Major accomplishments: maintained an average of 1.2% equipment downtime for past two years, have originated energy audits dropping consumption of water 12%, electricity 16% and natural gas 4.8% saving over $56K/year. Major projects: Spec and installed new facility equipment - Sullair air compressors and Cleaver Brooks boilers, relamped production facility replacing metal halide bulbs with T8 florescent lamps.
