  Innovated on numerous engineering projects over the course of completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, including creation of an exclusive product for a senior capstone project while serving on the Viking Motorsports’ (VMS) leadership team at Portland State University.Senior Capstone Project Success & Impact:• Designed and tested a new cold air intake system for the turbocharged 2018 Mazda 6 on behalf of CorkSport Performance as part of the senior capstone project. The new streamlined cold air intake system prototype design reduced manufactured components by 50%. Additionally, led a team that produced a turbocharger inlet pipe design that delivered an additional 3 horsepower above short ram intake system gains.• Authored quarterly reports which summarized project progress and achievements. Presented the final prototypes and summary analysis to peers, faculty, and public upon completion of the project.• Served as team leader of the engineering team throughout the duration of the senior capstone project, responsible for leading the development of new automotive component designs and prototypes. Developed test plans and experiments that accurately evaluated prototype performance, leading to improved quality outcomes through analysis at each phase.Viking Motorsports (VMS) Success & Impact:• Served on the Viking Motorsports (VMS) leadership team as the bodywork team lead, tasked with providing project-critical vehicle design and cost management operations. VMS is a student group focused on designing and building Formula SAE race cars from the ground-up for an annual international collegiate competition created by SAE International.• Successfully designed and produced new carbon fiber body panels for a Formula SAE Electric race car, which included mold manufacturing, composite lay-up, and curing of carbon fiber materials.
