This position is responsible for assuring that all operations are conducted in a safe manner and within the limits prescribed by the facility license, the provisions of the Reactor Operations Committee and the provisions of the Radiation Safety Committee.• Maintain reactor and radiation detection equipment in support of operations, research, and training activities.• Installed and tested upgraded Area Radiation Monitoring (ARM) System.• Installed Digital Chart Recorder for TRIGA Neutron Flux and Fuel Temperature Monitoring.The Department of Chemistry Nuclear Reactor Facility - equipped with a Mark I TRIGA type reactor - is primarily used for neutron activation analysis, which can determine the elemental composition of samples non-destructively for up to 74 different elements.
