  Manager of a busy community and building based support service for people who have a physical and / or sensory disability. Worked as a manager in Various home care offices for Dudley council. Started at Halesowen in '93, then went to Brierley Hill in summer of '94. Short time at Dudley (1995), then back to Brierley Hill '95/'96/'97, then I ended my home care journey at Stourbridge 1997-98, leaving on new years eve 1998. A few days later I started at Queens cross. I have very happy memories of my time at 'Amblecote'. I met some great people. Together we "Pushed the boundaries" and made louder the voice of people who have lived experience of learning disabilities. This was where I had my first experience of co-production. Little did the council know what they were in for, in the years to come, as a result of this. Yep! I loved it here. Well... what can I say, This lovely place is where my council journey began. All those years ago. I was enthusiastic, young, committed,.,, what's changed?? LOL. I now have less hair on my head, it has to be said. Random fact: For some reason, when I hear the Pogues song "Fairytale of New York", I always think of my first Christmas with the council, spent here. Analyse that !! :-) Whenver I go to Crystal now, I am still transported back to those magical days in the late 80's. Priceless memories.
