  A generalist role within a large FE College. The role provided exposure to all aspect of Human Resources from absence management to recruitment. The team was newly established, therefore a key priority was to build relationship with the business, this was achieved through effective communication and working hard to demonstrate the impact the service could have. Involved in implementing a new HR system. The role provided excellent opportunity to enhance experience at advisor level.

  A challenging role, managing a central HR team. The company had acquired a number of companies and had significant growth. The priorities during time here was restructuring, harmonisation of terms and conditions, TUPE. Ensuring processes were in place to provide an effective and efficient service to the business. Reason for leaving was an opportunity to return to previous company and use skills gained to advance career.

A summary of role and responsibilities:Managed the Human Resources function, team size ranged from 8 to 14. The team provided a service to the College, which employed between 800 and 1200 during the period. Performance managed the HR team, ensuring a respected and impactful service, adding value to the business. Member of the College’s leadership team, responsibilities included presenting and providing training to the group, carrying out duty head responsibilities and ensuring information from the leadership meetings was cascaded. Producing monthly, termly and annual KPIs for Executive and Board, including an annual People Report. These reports were used to evidence progress, achievements, compliance and areas for development.Coaching the HR Business Partners, discussing and advising on case management, including absence management, grievance, disciplinary, capability and general employee queries. Leading investigations where casework is complex, producing reports and presenting to panels.Working with the HR/OD Director to implement change management programmes including restructuring, setting up subsidiary companies, developing and delivering the People Strategy.
