    • Logical Choice Technologies

      Feb 1998 - Mar 2000
      System Engineer

      • Database Administrator (SQL70 - DBA) for a web store for our customers. Both corporate and government customers are able to go to our E-Commerce site (www.ChoiceBuyer.com/www.State-Buyer.com) and purchase all products that they would normally have to call a Customer Service Representative. Products I have used in this position are Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, English Query, Microsoft Full-Text Search and very little Visual Basic 6.0 and Active Server Pages.• On a team of two who provided the network administration for our client, the Georgia Department of Education (GADoE) - GADoE's environment: 30+ Windows NT Server/500+ Windows '95/NT Workstations clients - Redesigned an existing Microsoft SMS and implemented to all servers and workstations - Redesigned their TCP/IP addressing scheming from public to privatized addressing for ALL servers and clients, without one reported problem - Developed fault-tolerance and redundancy plans for WINS/DHCP/DNS servers - Developed a fully automated proactive monitoring, system health and hardware status by combing the technologies of Hewlett-Packard Insight Manager, emails and an alphanumeric paging system. GADoE was fully knowledgeable of any server hardware-failures or downtime within 30 seconds, whereas prior to the monitoring system, there was at least a 30-minute delay before they knew what was going on. This solution did not cost the client ANYTHING, accept the purchase of a MS-DOS based, command-line SMTP email software for Lotus Notes - Worked with developers to develop and design a dial-up solution to a large Microsoft Access and Oracle database via Citrix. The developers and end-users LOVED this solution, but it was not implemented because of non-technical reasons that were out of my control. Show less

      Feb 2006 - Dec 2008
      Senior Consultant

      • Southeast US regional Microsoft partner, focused on implementing System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)• I led design, implementation and operational efforts to implement SCCM and Operating System Deployment (OSD)projects• Worked with large bedding and mattress manufacturer to salvage a previously failing OSD project. I was asked to get the project back on course. Prior to my involvement, there were several consultants on the project. When I came in to assist, I shortly became the only consultant on the project, freeing up the other consultants to work on other engagements.• Assisted Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) to implement a large-scale operating system deployment project for a large, multinational airline. The primary goal was to convert the airline's homegrown, custom legacy desktop deployment system to being 100% managed by SCCM.• I led the technical efforts reverse engineer and port the steps in the legacy system over to Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (formerly: Business Desktop Deployment (BDD)). This involved scripting, custom development, integrating with external 3rd party applications, etc. Show less

    • 1E

      Dec 2008 - Nov 2021

      • Provided discover of customer environment and consult them on the best and most efficient way to integrate the 1E products in their companies. I led efforts to design the solutions and provide specifications to obtain server hardware either on-premises in customer datacenters, or in the cloud in Microsoft Azure and/or AWS properties. Once the solution was documented and accepted by customers, I worked with and mentored the customer's team, 1E consultants and 1E managed service providers to test, pilot and implementation.• Because of 1E's deep-technical knowledge and integration with MEMCM (Configuration Manager), many customers also hire 1E to aid them in design and implementing MEMCM in their environment. I've led several of these efforts.• Led efforts to present to and educate US Department of Defense about the security-first design of 1E Platform and product suite.• Worked with large US Federal Government agency to design and implement 1E Tachyon across 550K devices in CONUS.• Worked with aeronautical and space company in Georgia to migrate 4000+ endpoints to Windows 10. The design, test and pilot phases lasted 10 months. However, the team was only allowed the weekend before Christmas holiday to actually do the OS migration for the 4000+ product devices. This project went flawlessly and was a huge success, and actually finished ahead of schedule with very few issues. Many actually thought this was a near impossible task to accomplish.• Trained, educated and supported a multinational managed service provider (MSP) on 1E Platform and Tachyon. We implemented the solution across 11 US and multinational corporations. During this three-year period, there was a 100% renewal of the product suite across all customers.• Worked with large multinational food manufacturer to rebuild 45000+ endpoints that were hit with Petya virus. Designed and implemented WSS solution to automate the OS deployment and rebuild process across the global enterprise. Show less • Part of original team the CEO selected to brainstorm various ideas for what is today, 1E Tachyon• Managed team of product managers and their deliverables. Interfaced with various backoffice departments on the sales, financials and profitability of all agent-based products. Engaged customers daily to ensure their continued success and renewals of 1E products.• Managed product roadmap and release dates for all agent-based 1E products e.g. NightWatchman & 1E WakeUp, Nomad, Shopping.• Participated in Product Marketing efforts, ensuring 1E's relevance in the system management and endpoint device management community. This included writing blogs, collaborating in strategic webinars, speaking at various conferences and user group meetings.• One of the most important effort in 2015 was preparing 1E Nomad for upcoming Windows 10 release in August 2015. Prior to 1E Tachyon today, 1E Nomad has been 1E's flagship product since it's inception in 2004. Proper integration with Windows 10 was critical to 1E's success going forward. Nomad 6 was a huge success and went on to be instrumental in the success of 1E Windows Servicing Suite, aiding customer's accelerated adoption of Windows 10. Show less • Managed product roadmap and release dates for NightWatchman & 1E WakeUp, and Nomad• Worked with Software Engineering teams during Sprint-planning sessions, managed product showcases to demonstrate progress of features and milestones achieved. Educated the greater technical community within 1E including writing product documentation, deployment guides, test-case development, and collecting feedback from the field and sales organization.• Participated in Product Marketing efforts, ensuring 1E's relevance in the system management and endpoint device management community. This included writing blogs, collaborating in strategic webinars, speaking at various conferences and user group meetings. Show less • Mentored several 1E consultants, demonstrating how to properly lead and engage a customer through the various project phases e.g., Discovery, Design, Data Validation, Test/Staging, Pilot, Implementation, and post-mortem reviews. Since then, some have been promoted to being Principal Consultants themselves.• Led in design and implementation efforts, assisting a Top 5 US financial organization in the migration of a custom home-grown server patching solution which was replaced by System Center Configuration Manger 2007 (SCCM). The system was responsible for patching 35000+ servers across several global datacenters. A separate SCCM hierarchy already existed which managed 240000+ endpoints, so I worked with that team to ensure proper coexistence of the two hierarchies, ensuring safe and proper management boundaries remained separated.• Developed an automated "application mapping" process - using WSS during OS deployments - ensured the correct applications were (re)installed, upgraded or removed from the new computer, all based upon application usage under the previous OS install. This feature was requested by a large automobile auction company in Southeast US, and I worked with 1E software engineers to define requirements and develop the solution. This hallmark feature later became what is known today as AppMigration in WSS. Show less • First six months spent on the bench learning the intricacies of the extensive product suite• Designed and implemented 1E Nomad at global pharmaceutical company. Efforts included developing automated and documented process to decommission hundreds of SCCM secondary sites.• Designed and implemented 1E Nomad at large multinational global retailer. Efforts included developing automated and documented process to decommission hundreds of SCCM secondary sites.• Assisted in the design and implementation of SCCM 2007 for large multinational telecommunications company headquartered in the US. This project also entailed adopting OS deployment process for 000's of retail digital signage computers. These computers were rebuilt weekly which amounted to hundreds of thousands deployments per year. Show less
