  I have served on ABIM item writing task force for general cardiology since 2020 and am also a member of ABIM Governance since 2023 and serve on ABIM Interventional Cardiology Approval Committee. As a member of ABIM governance, I help set standards of care and define the depth and breadth of knowledge that a board-certified physicians should have. This helps me serve, not only the physician community but our patients and public at large. It helps build and maintain public trust in medicine, as it ensures that if they are being treated by a board-certified physician, they are getting fact and evidence-based care by a physician who is abreast and current in his/her medical knowledge.   Nominated by Maryland Chapter of American College of Cardiology (ACC) to chair the Carrier Advisory Committee for Maryland. ACC Carrier Advisory Committee (CAC) is a workgroup of the Board of Governors which plays an essential role in monitoring and influencing the state and regional activities of the Medicare Administrative Contractors (MAC). As a member of the committee, I play as essential role to help create and positively influence the health policy. As a member of the CAC committee representing Maryland, I am excited about my role in ensuring local insurance coverage determination is reflective of ACC guidelines as well as current clinical practice. I believe this is essential to ensure high quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care to the patients while adding value to the system. I believe this is a testament to my genuine interest in health policy, professional development and standard setting in Cardiology at the state and national level. Show less
