  I initially started as a volunteer supporting people who were homeless or facing the the threat of homelessness by providing advice and information, my duties consisted of contacting Housing providers within the local and private sector and assisting in securing temporary accommodation. My role after 12 months enabled me to sucessfully secure the post of mental health access worker which was a new post to engage service users with mental health providers and being the link and advocate for those experiancing mental health issues.   1. Manages allocated human, material and financial resources.2. Ensures the day-to-day management and administration of the hostel.3. Provide quality direct access emergency accommodation, on a housing support needs basis4. Promotes a welcoming and supportive enviroment5. Assists with service development and budgetary preparation, Financial monitoring and control and operation criteria.6. Controls and co-ordinates advice and support packages to residents, referring to appropriate agencies, as necessary.7. Facilitates the provision of appropriate rehousing, by liaison with other interested agencies, departments and sections.8. Ensures maintenance and security of buildings, fittings and equipment.9.
