      Aug 2007 - Aug 2009
      Field Engineer

Joined a field operations team working on a cancer treatment and imaging facility for Memorial Sloan Kettering. Started by shadowing superiors around site, making copies of drawings, and forming friendships with union workers. I got more involved by submitted drawings for architectural approval, and coordinating between the subcontractors in the field and owner's reps over the phone. On the floor, I supervised some finishing work, like paint and corner guards, but my main talk towards getting the building its TCO was checking the fire ratings of every wall and door, as well as all egresses to the building. Towards the end of my tenure, I was also tasked with payroll for union laborers working directly for Turner (79b) and contributed to setting the monthly budget for labor/materials necessary for all work associated with the laborers. I quit when I decided to return to school for a Graduate degree in Classics. Show less

    • Shearman Ralston Inc.

      May 2012 - Jan 2021
      Chief Administrative Officer

As a small family firm, I act as both trader and administrative officer. I help keep the books and manage the day-to-day activities of our small business. I maintain regular communication with the back-office to resolve problems and coordinate policy changes, application updates, and many more issues requiring attention. Back to the trading side of my role, I have the opportunity to interact with short-term traders as well as more long-term investors. While I have been learning how to construct portfolios, many of our customers also play the options market. Working with latter set has exposed me to technical analysis to go along with more traditional analysis based on the financial statements of public companies. Show less
