      Music Composer

I have considered myself a composer since the age of 11, when I wrote my first piano piece. Under tutelage of Robert Walker, the music theory teacher at CAPA, my compositional voice developed. My first commissioned work was for my friend and colleague James Smith, the organist and choir director at Trinity Episcopal Church in Swarthmore. Commissioned for the church's tricentennial celebrbration, the composition was a Jazz Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, featuring the church choir and the Terri Kleinfelter Jazz trio. Over the years I have been commissioned by the following organizations: Orchestra 2001, The Bucks County Choral Society, Opera Company of Philadelphia, Network for New Music, Relâche, Singing City, Traci Hall Dance Co., The Settlement School of Music, Al-Bustan: Seeds of Culture, the Theater of Witness and the Philadelphia Jazz Project, among others. I write in all styles and musical genres. I also have an extensive background in writing for choir and jazz ensembles. Show less
