      Projects:- Built seasonal ARIMA and exponential smoothing models in R to analyze patterns and trends in City of Chicago crime data. After selecting the best model, developed a forecast for crime over the next 5 years. Dataset recorded > 5.8 million crimes over a 15 year period- Built decision tree and scorecard models in SAS Enterprise Miner to determine which statistical factors are most important in predicting NBA wins. Used results to find free agents with strong statistics that are otherwise undervalued- Identified student attitudes towards the University of Chicago college application process reflected in tweets. Extracted relevant tweets (using Pig) from > 6.5 million tweets stored in a Hadoop cluster and completed sentiment analysis in SPSS- Designed and built a normalized database in MySQL to store information gathered related to Academy Award winning movies. Queried the database to answer questions such as “which low IMDB scoring movies still won an Oscar?” Show less
