  I undertook the design and supervision of geotechnical works. My design experience included: foundation design of deep basements, piled raft analysis, bridge foundation design, retaining wall design, slope stability analysis and analysis of reinforced earth walls.I gained considerable experience in ground investigation supervision and worked on sites in the UK and Poland. Other site-based experience included: supervision of earthworks (including reinforced earth structures), piling, diaphragm walling, foundation supervision and grouting works.I gained experience of interpretative ground investigation report writing and environmental desk studies.   I was a Senior Designer Engineer and then Design Manager responsible for the development and delivery of company’s most challenging ground improvement projects.I produced designs for stone column projects, vibro concrete column projects, band drain projects, in situ compaction projects (including liquefaction assessment) and procured ground investigation to support designs.I was the company’s Supervising Civil Engineer and provided support to engineers pursuing professional membership with the ICE and IMechE.I managed a small team and was involved in the recruitment, retention, mentoring and restructuring/consultations with colleagues.I was the company’s technical representative in dealings with the company’s legal team in the defence of a long-standing dispute.   I managed a small team of designers and was responsible for the design output for Bachy Soletanche’s Northern Business Unit (NBU) which covers the northern half of the UK.The department produces competitive, efficient, client focused pile designs for a wide range of projects. I carried out and managed the production of bearing pile designs, embedded wall designs, circular shaft designs, slope stability design, temporary piling platform designs and I procured ground investigation and instrumentation and monitoring works.I provided technical advice to Bachy's sister company, Vibro Menard, with respect to the design of stone column and band drain ground improvement projects.I provided technical leadership in the resolution of ‘problem jobs’ and represented both the NBU and Vibro Menard in formal disputes during the mediation process and during less formal discussions with third parties.I was Bachy Soletanche’s lead SCE in the UK and was responsible for the production and approval of the company’s current ICE approved Training Agreement.
