  I work with collaborative teams of architects, interdisciplinary teams of engineers, building owners, and other project stake holders, to create dynamic, forward-thinking design solutions that address the ICT system platforms that will provide technology services for the current and future needs of buildings and facilities. These systems include all forms of copper and fiber optic low-voltage structured cabling and pathways, building security systems, video surveillance systems, paging and intercom systems, and audio visual (AV) system designs. I work with CAD/BIM technicians to convert concepts and/or design direction into constructible, biddable drawings. I write and edit Division 27 & 28 specifications that further define the scope and requirements for the ICT portion of the project. I perform product, standards, and code related research to ensure the most current products are available, to ensure that the products selected are durable and provide the building owner with maximized value over the life of the product, and I ensure that products specified are compliant with any standards and/or code defined requirements specific to the project. I also perform on-site job site observations during project construction to ensure installation of systems and devices are compliant with the requirements specified within the project, installed in light of current industry best practices, and to ensure that they are code compliant (when applicable). I write narratives to define the ICT scope of work and provide probable opinion of costs for construction budgets and analyze budgets provided by others. This work also requires many other tangible and intangible aspects that are too many to list, but are required for success.
