I had the privilege of working with various departments including the QC Office, Gear Lab B6/B6+, Engineering, Evaluation, and Logistics.In the QC Office, I had the opportunity to learn about the rigorous standards and attention to detail that are integral to maintaining the company's reputation for excellence.Working in Gear Lab B6/B6+, I had the chance to work alongside skilled professionals where I learned about the precision and engineering excellence that goes into developing and testing gears. It was truly fascinating to see how every detail is analyzed and optimized to ensure optimal performance. This experience provided me with a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of automotive engineering.The Engineering department provided me with an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with a team of talented engineers. I was able to contribute to projects, gain practical knowledge, and witness the innovative processes involved in developing cutting-edge automotive technologies. This experience deepened my understanding of engineering principles and the importance of continuous improvement in the automotive industry.In the Evaluation department I had the privilege of witnessing the rigorous testing procedures that Ford employs to ensure the safety and reliability of their vehicles. The level of expertise and attention to detail displayed by the engineers was truly inspiring. At its core, my job revolved around an understanding of the mechanics, car setups, and driving physics within Assetto Corsa Competizione.Collaborating closely with the drivers and fellow race engineers, I helped tailor the car's setup to perfection. This involved tweaking parameters such as suspension, aerodynamics, tire pressure, and various other intricate details, all with the aim of optimising the vehicle's handling, speed, and responsiveness to suit the challenges presented by the diverse array of racing conditions provided by circuits such as Silverstone, Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya and Spa-Francorchamps.Using telemetry, I helped to dissect the drivers' performances with precision. I identified areas for improvement and offered invaluable insights and recommendations. Be it refining driving lines or selecting the perfect braking points, my guidance aided the team in squeezing every ounce of potential out of the car that is being driven.I kept in touch with the gaming world and sim racing, paying consistent attention to updates and patches to Assetto Corsa Competizione. This way, I ensure that the teams strategies and setups remain at the cutting edge of virtual motorsport within the game.Ultimately, my goal in motorsport and with Lamborghini is the ongoing pursuit of perfection. I help continuously refine Lamborghini's race performance in Assetto Corsa Competizione, creating a belief within the team that we can be victorious. From analyzing car components with composite engineers to simulating race strategies, every activity was a unique blend of technical challenge and real-world application.A highlight of my experience was participating in a race strategy simulation where I applied my knowledge to manage tire allocations, pit stops, and race modes. This hands-on experience solidified my passion for race engineering and strategy, reinforcing my desire to pursue a career in this dynamic field.I am so impressed with the team's culture, passion, and togetherness. The no-blame culture is truly inspiring and creates such a positive environment. In addition to the technical aspects, I was deeply inspired by the team's commitment to fostering young talent and creating a supportive, forward-thinking environment. I did my best to explain complex theories in a clear and engaging manner.Throughout the talk, I highlighted the significant contributions made by Professor Brian Cox to the field. I did extensive research before the talk and I believe my research of Professor Cox's work were evident, as I clearly and concisely spoke about his groundbreaking discoveries and influential theories. I did everything I could to connect the dots between astrophysics and our everyday lives. I effectively conveyed the profound impact that this field of study has on our understanding of the universe, as well as the field's practical applications in various industries. This connection helped my class appreciate the relevance of astrophysics and cosmology beyond the academic realm.I received a recognition for my effort after I had spoken to my teacher about the talk. My Physics Teacher awarded me with a Head of House Award, which speaks volumes to me about my teachers belief in my dedication, hard work, and presentation skills. I felt this recognition further solidified the commendable quality of my talk, as I attempted to leave a lasting impression on both the audience and the Physics Teacher. I was very pleased to receive an award for my talk despite the fact that I wasn't asked to do it. I did my research after I went to see Brian Cox in Manchester Arena and I told my teacher, who proceeded to ask me to do a talk about it. This changed during my excellent talk with former Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team Head of Mechanical Engineering, Ben Hodgkinson. Ben inspired me into the field of Mechanical Engineering and ignited my burning desire to become a trackside mechanical engineer with Mercedes. From then, my goal is going well so fingers crossed.
