      Sept 1993 - Dec 1998
Senior Lecturer - Head of Higher Education in Sport and Leisure

This was my first professional role after my bachelors degree in sport and leisure and my post graduate teaching qualifications (PGCE) where I learned to teach and to lead. I led a range of HE programmes delivered primarily in the UK. Courses ranged from sport event management, sport science, performance and sport and leisure management. Looking back, this was a fabulous apprenticeship for me as I wanted to coach and mentor - ultimately at the most senior end of business. I was promoted quickly to Senior Lecturer where I led a team of lecturers and designed accredited new programs. I learned a great deal teaching students from all walks of life in my 20's and 30s and enjoyed every day I worked at the college. Show less

When the business was eventually sold to GM I took the opportunity to join Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motors at a time when huge investment was driving growth in Bentley especially.

The role was exciting - preparing Bentley Motors global retail network with the skills and behaviours required to support a fundamental shift in culture, focusing on the launch of the Bentley Continental GT and the separation of Rolls Royce from Bentley.Responsible for the academy development across the global retail network (sales, aftersales, technician skills, customer service, driver experience and brand standards) including the prestigious Rolls Royce Chauffeur School.
