      Offshore Technology Intern

In this position I created benchmark data and tested OSV 2.0, a software that performs structural analysis on offshore support vessels, determines ABS rule requirements for the particular vessel, and outputs a report stating whether the vessels meets the requirements and shows where it does not pass.

      Aug 2013 - May 2015

This position's objective is to assist in the research of the effects of surface roughness on boundary layer development. I use particle image velocimetry (PIV) to capture water velocities near the plate surface and process the data and compare to boundary layer theory. In this position, I prepare and run experiments, work on equipment, and help develop data collection procedures. I work as an instructional assistant for a freshman engineering lab for designing underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). In this position, I set up the lab and assist the students during the session. I also hold office hours to help the students with their designs, construction, and writing reports.
