  During my time as a Membercare Assistant I also covered shifts as a Front of House Assistant at Virgin Active Sheffield (June 2011 to December 2011).Within this role I was responsible for ensuring all members and non-members were welcomed into the club. As a Front of House Assistant it was my task to ensure quick and efficient lines of communication between the various departments and also between staff and our customers. This was a challenging role for which I had to be constantly alert and well organised in order to deal with multiple customers in a very short space of time. Show less

  Industrial Placement - Site Facilities Assistant

  I worked as a Site Facilities Assistant as part of my industrial placement year for my BA (Hons) Business Studies degree at Sheffield Hallam University.The department I worked in was largely responsible for facilities management. Within the role I was heavily involved with energy and waste management; looking for ways to reduce energy consumption and thus costs, whilst looking at waste segregation in order to further reduce Cummins' impact on the environment.Within the role I demonstrated strong time management skills, working on several projects at any one time. I was part of many cross-functional teams and feel that my knowledge and understanding of the operations of a large organisation have also improved.I was given a large amount of responsibility during my placement year working on projects with colleagues whilst also managing my own. One large project I was involved in was being part of the implementation of ISO 50001.During my placement year I also completed several training courses including IOSH Managing Safely. Show less

  I worked as a contractor at Cummins Turbo Technologies, Huddersfield on a part time basis whilst studying for the final year of my BA (Hons) Business Studies degree.After returning to Cummins Turbo Technologies as a contractor I continued my work as part of the implementation team for ISO 50001.I was also heavily involved in large scale projects across the site. I continued to develop my project management skills and knowledge of energy saving technologies.Working as part of a team on these projects enabled me to further enhance my teamwork and leadership skills, as well as my communication skills through working with both internal colleagues and external suppliers.
