My PhD project is aligned with the Congenital Heart Fitness Intervention Trial (CH-FIT), investigating the health impacts of exercise, and the best way to help adults and children living with congenital heart disease to lead active lives. Supervised by Prof. Jeff Coombes & Dr Shelley Keating.Throughout my time at UQ I have been responsible for teaching and learning design including development and delivery for undergraduate exercise science, exercise physiology, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy students. My teaching history at UQ includes: Advanced Exercise Physiology (PHYL3732); Exercise Prescription & Programming for Ageing, Metabolic Disease & Cancer (EXMD4741); Teaching Games and Sport (EDUC2003); Biophysical Development, Measurement & Assessment (BIOL1900); Exercise Science Professional Skills (EXMD3372); Exercise Prescription & Programming for Metabolic & Kidney Disease (EXMD4743); Human Functional Musculoskeletal Anatomy (ANAT2029);Physical Activity for People with Motor, Sensory, Cognitive or Behavioural Impairments (EXMD3070)Professions, People and Healthcare (HTLH1000)Interprofessional Collaborative Practice (HABS1240)Sports Physiotherapy Practice (PHTY7944)Within EXMD3070 and EXMD3372 I have been responsible for coordinating and managing student-led clinics with healthy and clinical populations, namely the UQ Motor Active and HMNS Personal Training programs. This included adapting previous clinic offerings to hybrid delivery models, generating advertising materials, recruiting and managing a teaching team, designing assessment items and marking rubrics, recruiting participants (and managing schedules/timetables) and coordinating student-client partnerships. I also volunteer as an in-house liaison for students from diverse backgrounds or with a disability to navigate UQ systems, help unpack course profiles and assessment tasks, and generally find success throughout their studies. Show less The HMNS Personal Training program is a student-delivered clinic for people who are currently insufficiently active or not meeting Australian Government physical activity guidelines. Approximately 100 students are matched with 100 paying members of the public to receive an 8-week exercise training program, including a comprehensive pre- and post-program fitness assessment. The program offers approximately 25 small group sessions each week, supervised by a qualified exercise scientist or exercise physiologist. Show less
