      Jan 2017 - Apr 2019
      Postdoctoral Research Associate

Postdoctoral research fellow working on the NERC Project "CoG3: Investigating the recovery of Cobalt". The project aims to increase UK's exploration, mining and recovery of cobalt, a metal of great strategic and economic importance. In this project we will look at the Geology, Geometallurgy and Geomicrobiology of cobalt resources leading to new product streams (CoG3). I'm involved in WP4: Improving the Supply Chain of Cobalt. My research within WP4 will focus on improving the cobalt supply chain through investigation into the geometallurgy of cobalt with direct engagement of industry. Show less

      May 2019 - now

Work on the geometallurgy, traceability and resource efficiency of battery minerals, cobalt in particular. Developing geometallurgy at GTK. Principal scientist for the Horizon Europe projects EXCEED and MADITRACE. I'm working on improving resources efficiency and traceability along the battery mineral value chain through the application of geometallurgy with an emphasis on cobalt, using the Finnish ecosystem as a case study to support the production and responsible sourcing of cobalt for the EU battery industry.I'm notably involved in the BATCircle and BATtrace projects.
