I've maintained an online presence since 1994, and I've consulted and advised on online social connections since 1997. Presently, I manage social media channels and relationships for Adluh Flour, Blue Cactus Cafe, NAMI Mid-Carolina, and more while contributing to SC Flood Information Exchange, Big Dam Jam, and Empire Supper Club. I write and fundraise for local nonprofits, and will often share my experience and knowledge through speaking engagements around Columbia, South Carolina, and in various online platforms. I've been published by Pregnancy magazine (Aug 2001), wrote a popular weekly column for GameSpy Industries, served as a recipe editor for dLife, and have been quoted on CNN. Show less

    • GraySail LLC

      Aug 2005 - Sept 2016
      Client Relations and Account Management

At GraySail, as with most positions, I had a job title and description: Mine was Client Relations Manager, and my primary role was to act as the conduit of communication between client and development team. Even so, as is often the case with employees of small businesses, when there was work to be done outside of my particular job, I did it. This afforded me the ability to develop and hone valuable additional skills, such as:• Project Management• Technical Support• Software Testing• Quality Assurance• Human Resources• Recruiting• Bookkeeping (QuickBooks) including: Invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.• RFP selection and response, resulting in lucrative contracts• Selecting, binding, and renewing business insurance coverage (Errors & Omissions, Crime, Technology, etc.)The bottom line is this: I'm a connector and a catalyst, and I make certain all client needs are understood and then not just met, but indeed, exceeded. When it became clear to me that the future of business-to-customer communication would be through social channels, I created and provided social media representation as a service offered by GraySail to its web development clients. In this role, it was my responsibility to develop and provide the online brand personalities and related conversational skills. Focusing on community engagement and sentiment with an emphasis on developing and sharing creative content with the brand followers to build relationships and loyalty, with measurable results.I'm extremely proud of my eleven years of work with GraySail LLC, and look forward to what comes next. • Adluh Flour

      Aug 2011 - now
      Social Media Strategist

Connecting Adluh Flour Mill, a century-old company (with a proud "same today, same always" mantra), with today's customers is a challenging and fulfilling project. This landmark mill and the recipes crafted from its products have been documented on the internet for years, and with that in mind, crafting a social presence for the mill was a logical next step. It requires a clear understanding of the company, their deeply-rooted history, and the social landscape in Columbia, South Carolina. My goal has been to bring those things "to the table" with my clear vision for their real-time social interaction: to encourage friends, customers, fans, and retailers to connect with the famous mill - and with each other. • Blue Cactus Cafe

      Feb 2012 - now
      Social Media Strategist

Blue Cactus is a hidden gem in Columbia's famous Five Points District. Operating in the same location since May 5, 1994, Blue Cactus serves authentic Korean and Southwestern "slow food with attitude," with a diverse and devoted network of fans and customers. Cactus customers are treated like family, for better or worse, and it is my responsibility to maintain a consistent daily dialog across all social media platforms. With the slogan "world famous and arrogantly slow," each and every dish is made to order using the freshest ingredients, choosing locally grown and sourced whenever possible. Lloyd and Mary Reese, the original owners and operators, retired in December 2017. Their daughter Julie, a Columbia icon in her own right who worked as the restaurant's server for 22 years, took ownership of Blue Cactus Cafe in January 2018. Show less
