      Managed the Medical Record Department, Utilization Review Program, and the Quality Assurance Program for this facility beginning six months after their opening. Coordinated inpatient certification and re-certification with third party payors. Implemented concurrent record analysis to assure adequate documentation and record completion and facilitate better turnaround for reimbursement. Transitioned to word processing for transcription services. Designed floor plan and layout of new HIM offices. Setup and managed the HIM services when the skilled nursing facility opened. Assisted with the opening of the new psychiatric facility. Assisted corporate officers in the standardization of patient record forms. Participated in JCAHO inspections with favorable outcome.       Managed all administrative functions of the facility. Health Information Management – Electronic Health Record setup, implementation, training, and ongoing troubleshooting and administration. Worked with staff and client on buy-in of the EHR. This included working with all of the stakeholders to evaluate the processes, workstation placement, privacy policies, security, regulatory compliance, ability to inspect and audit and the management of paper documents. Worked with the vendor to develop an electronic signature for the program, implemented a Document Imaging process, wrote HIM policies and procedures to meet the new processes, added numerous workstations, established an auditing position and process, wrote SQL queries and reports that enabled us to publish the record for inspection, and worked continuously with staff to refine the program setup, and write procedures for the more difficult processes. Acted as the Compliance/Privacy/Security officer for the facility. Used a team approach to develop and implement a Process Improvement Program (PIP) for the entire facility, role modeled facilitation of the PIP for the QA Nurse, assisted the Medical Director as Cost Account Manager using the Earned Value Management System. Facilitated quarterly government inspections of the facility including inspections from the Department of the Army Inspector General. Supervised reception, scheduling, credential verification, management of Chemical Personnel Reliability Program records, monitoring of medical surveillance, and employee/vendor screening for site access. Led an interdepartmental process improvement team for an extensive remodel of the facility. Served on a plant steering committee to develop and implement an employee led Environmental Process Improvement Team for which we were all nominated for the Washington Group International Lions Award. Achieved national certification as a Safety Trained Supervisor – General Industry. Show less
