      Volunteering during high school and college years included volunteer activities such as friendly visits, giving manicures, transporting residents to and from their appointments, taking residents outside the pond area, and participate with them in their hobbies. The residents truly became more like family to me during this experience. The residents claimed I brighten their day; however, they gave me the motivation and aspiration to achieve my personal goals.

This community development program I created and implemented into my programs for the 29 freshmen. The program took place during a month long period. Each resident had a secret sister and each week the residents wrote words of encouragement and clue about themselves to their secret sister. At the end of the month there was a secret sister reveal.
