To achieve a skilled workforce who assess; plan; implement; manage; monitor; evaluate public health programmes, services, and interventions at any level. Epidemiology and biostatistics enable health status measurements of populations, plan appropriate interventions and interpret outcomes. Health promotion and primary healthcare knowledge aid in designing programmes focused on disease and health promotion, while disease control knowledge & skills ensure appropriate disease control strategy use. The environment's influence on control of diseases allows for understanding the interdependency of environmental and human factors. Management competencies enable the use of principles and tools to ensure a functional health system.Evidence-based approach strengthened by the opportunity to plan a research project that addresses a gap or need. I was a passionate, focused and organised fellow assisting with Global Citizen’s Global Policy and Advocacy department for 2019/2020. My focus was primarily on health issues. However, I have dealt with several of Global Citizen's issue areas while working at the organisation. When needed, perform research covering a wide variety of tasks. I added to the team by providing additional feedback, unique ideas and a combined approach to tackle the issue areas.During the Fellowship Program, I worked with our issue leads. Assisting them with campaigning, advocacy, and outreach efforts focused on Global Citizen’s issue campaigns such as; water and sanitation, food and nutrition security, education, and gender equality — and more recently, reducing inequalities.- Compiled research briefs around policy implementation, advocacy issues, funding opportunities, and planned events.- Drafting compelling content pieces related to ongoing campaigning and advocacy work on the African continent and globally.- Attend and assist with advocacy meetings held with government representatives, civil society and relevant stakeholders.- Draft impact reports following campaigning events and track campaign and advocacy work to be included in monthly reports.- Supporting with the outreach and logistics planning required for Global Citizen events and festivals Show less
