      • Responsible for a critical-character user interface-based configuration system for plug-n-play, and to automatically identify and configure video hardware, mice and monitors. Program was a key component needed to run the Solaris OpenWindows/Common Desktop Environment (CDE) and provided hands-free Solaris installation capabilities, and the ability to reconfigure the hardware and setup based on pre-established profiles. • Converted Intel x86 assembly to C in the device dependent layer of the X server that enabled Open Windows (a version of X windows with Sun’s value added enhancements) to run in 24-bit mode on a video card installed in a Power PC based system. • Conduct Transfer of Information and presentations to Sun’s World Wide Field Organization, specifying the state of graphics development on Solaris-Intel, and providing key competitive (and performance) data to Sun’s global sales force.• Developed device handlers for the Weitek P9100-based video cards used on Intel and PPC platforms, providing critical performance enhancements for Sun’s imaging library (XIL) and high-speed imaging operations, such as decompressing JPEG, GIF or TIF images and viewing real time video, by four times. • Ported and enhanced a configuration program from Intel x86 to PPC platform that was a character-based User Interface using the Curses library, enabling users to configure their keyboard, display (monitor and video card) and mouse for Open Windows environment.• Principle design team member for new, graphical user interface (GUI)/command line based program to configure the Open Windows environment on SPARC, x86 and PPC platforms.• Managed three separate Driver Update processes (for three platforms) offering quick release of newly developed graphics drivers to customers. The primary goal of this strategy was to achieve an 80-20 model where 80% of the Internet code would be common in all regions of the world and 20% being the regional customizations. Business and IT product managers gathered global high level requirements for key internet functionalities and passed them on to IT Business Analysts to elaborate them into user stories. These user stories were then coded and certified. The goal was to have a customer sign on and view all their Citi relationship accounts from a single online website.
