  Intern – Engineering/Product Specialist

  - Built Utilities on Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel to facilitate the migration to Eaton's centralized Database Management system for Calgary Satellite. - Worked on the setup of Lightning Pro tool, a Java application to implement paperless routing of Panelboard Assembly jobs from Plant Supervisors to Product Specialists to Assemblers, finally to the Shippers. This work included procuring all electronic peripherals, planning their layout in the workshop, installing Hardware, network drops and ZT411 printers, and finally running connectivity testing to ensure proper functioning.- Worked on Microsoft Excel based application to generate QR Code based labels for identifying Kanban parts in the Calgary plant.- Worked for 2 weeks on Assembly line to build Panelboards for Powerlines 1 and 2. Got experience working with Drill and Screw tightening machines, Drill press, Band and cold saws.- Regularly communicated progress of work to Eaton Office in Ontario, and recommending changes to improve worker output as part of quarterly held Rapid Improvement Event.- Participated in the plant's supply chain management work to handle logistic issues such as Ordering Kanban Parts, rescheduling of jobs to a viable month based on availability of assembler workhours, arrival times of peripherals, priority of jobs currently on hand, etc.- Worked on Health and Safety Activities for the plant, which included updating of floor layout map with locations for Eyewash stations, First Aid, Fire Extinguishers, AEDs, Spill Containment Zones, etc. I also helped in submission and maintenance of Inspection Forms, collecting SDSs for Chemicals used in the plant, facilitating EHS training for Employees, Installing Lockout devices, and reviewing Regulatory Posting requirements as per provincial guidelines.
