      I worked as an engineering intern where I was in charge of troubleshooting the new glycerin processing line as well as running its day to day operations.I learned to think critically about problems I experienced on the line as I worked out the bugs in the system.

      My primary responsibility was collecting and processing data on Lake Michigan. I collected samples off of the EPA vessel the Lake Guardian on Lake Michigan as well as off of Purdue's work skiff. I also processed samples sorting species and running an analysis of their fatty acids in the lab. In addition, I was part of a research project with other undergraduates in the lab that we conducted oursevles. This job gave me opportunities to learn about experiment design, lab techniques, and field techniques. I enjoyed being exposed to many new experiences as an engineer working in a fisheries biology lab. Show less

      I worked under Dr. Loring Nies and Dr. Ron Turco to complete a report for the state of Indiana. The report outlined the current state of Indiana's water resources particularly groundwater resources and how they are utilized for irrigation. I enjoyed the open-ended nature of the questions we researched. I worked independently to answer a portion of the questions myself.

      Design Engineer

      My work consists of primarily Nature Based Solutions projects in planning, design, and program capacities. I work on projects all over the United States, but I'm looking to bring more projects to my home state of Minnesota. Past projects include selection and prioritization of potential green infrastructure projects, small scale (bioretention, bioswales) green infrastructure design to mitigate combined sewer overflows, community based partnership programs for nature based solutions, and large scale nature based solutions. I have past experience at BV working on multiple Combined Sewer Overflow Tunnel projects including design, permitting, and construction phase services. I am also well versed in linear water and sewer design and utility relocation projects. Show less
