  Camp Ruggles is the only summer camp in Rhode Island designated for children (ages 6-12) who have been diagnosed with behavioral and emotional disorders. • After the first year was promoted to Waterfront Director with responsibility for all waterfront activities including swim lessons, boating lessons, fishing lessons, and leisure swimming. • Successfully designed and executed lesson plans while overseeing 20 staff members. • Incorporated the characteristics of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) philosophy • Setting clear expectations for appropriate behavior and rewarding positive behavior for the 60 young children greatly improved their ability to follow directions, make friends, and improved mood.
