      In my position as Executive Director and CEO of the Council on Alcohol and Drugs; I make periodic reports to the Board of Directors regarding all important aspects of the Council's functions and operations, highlighting both achievements and areas of concern. Along with the Director of Operations, I ensure adequate financial oversight. I created and manage the execution of a long range fee for service and resource development plan. I meet and communicate with funders and donors as needed and maintain a strong partnership with all funding sources. I set clear performance expectations and goals for my staff and have set up clear patterns of authority, responsibility, supervision and communication. I delegate authority and monitor results appropriately while inviting and responding to staff needs and feedback. Our agency adheres to all nonprofit “Best Practices”. We utilize a well-planned, fair and effective system for hiring, motivating and maintaining a highly qualified staff. I model behaviors and attitudes which promote individual responsibility, programmatic and professional excellence and creative initiative. I strive always to foresee problems and utilize preventive problem solving strategies. I ensure the Council is marketed and positioned properly to help it achieve its mission. I take active steps to educate the public regarding issues relating to the Council's activities. I encourage liaison activities by all staff with other providers and community members. I participate in community, state and professional organizations. I ensure that the agency conducts all business at the highest standard of integrity and ethics.
