  I started my development with EF Language Travel during the summer of 2008 as an English as a foreign language teacher to students aged 7-15. As well as following the course teaching materials this also involved the preparation of extra teaching resources as well as participation in general centre activities.I returned in summer 2009 where I was responsible for all the teaching and activities of a group of students. I also took an active role in centre activities and worked closely with a travelling group leader to ensure the welfare of my group.   Centre Manager

  As Centre Manager of a large International English Language Summer School I had overall responsibility for the successful running of the school which catered for over 300 students from around the world.Most of my time was taken up problem solving and decision making, reacting to and dealing with the innumerable situations that can arise when working with such a large number of young people. Prioritising the needs of the staff and students, while also liaising with suppliers, head office and the residence where we were located was at times challenging and required me to be efficient and organised. Clear communication, particularly when managing many activities and projects, wascrucial. Administration duties also formed a large part of my responsibilities. This included completing staff payroll, reconciling petty cash, and timetabling of classes and room bookings. I also oversaw staff rotas and carried out evaluation and feedback for staff members development. This included supervising the workload of the Senior Staff Team and ensuring deadlines were met and followed procedure and company expectations. Essential to achieving the successful running of the centre was ensuring the motivation of over 50 staff. This included local teachers, foreign leaders and other team members and thus I have experience of working in an international environment and have developed skills enabling me to work effectively with people from different cultures. I monitored the student feedback and used it to feedback to staff and make improvements.This was in line with meeting overall company targets. Show less
