  In my role as a workshop assistant, I work on jobs and projects involving fabrication assigned to the Engineering department. From this job, I have developed communication skills by liaising between materials suppliers and the recipients of the finished products. I also gained sufficient experience handling machinery to operate them without supervision; such include, lathes, milling machines, MIG and TIG welders, angle grinders, band saws, and drills.Being the only female on this team has also given me a unique experience of bringing diversity into the workplace and sharing a different perspective with my colleagues.   BOH at JD is (in my biased opinion) the best department to be a part of. Our work in stock management, delivery processing, and optimization by layout to assist the Footwear and Textiles department in effective replenishment allows us to compete on another level with not just other retailers but also against fellow JD stores. We love a bit of healthy competition and no one does fast paced and analysis like I have seen at JD. Loving being a part of this team and am excited to see what opportunities can come down the line.
