I work on books and journals in a range of subject areas, including humanities, social sciences, STEM, law and medicine.Responsibilities include:- Monitoring and maintaining the editorial quality of CUP products and procedures- Checking the quality of copy-editing, proofreading and indexing- Managing and developing a pool of over 250 freelancers- Recruiting new freelancers- Recommending freelancers and workflow for projects- Delivering in-house training for staff- Assessing the copy-editorial and typesetting requirements of manuscripts and creating briefs- Maintaining, updating and improving databases- Setting fees for freelancers and handling invoices- Working on individual projects, such as the development of new materials and recruitment processesI worked in this role on a fixed-term contract from Jan 2020 to November 2020.
