While leading a team of PNG and expatriate employees and contractors, key achievements included:Successfully achieved Oil Search’s re-certification to ISO14001, resulting in a 0.25% interest rate discount on a US$7B loan (secured for a 29% stake in the Exxon lead PNG LNG project).Developed an excellent working relationship with PNG Government departments resulting in significantly reduced waiting times for exploration permits. This then resulted in savings of up to US$1M per day.Successfully managed and completed US$6M worth of projects over a two-year period, designed to provide “continuous improvement” and exceed established industry best practice.Restructured the team and introduced regular training and upskilling of members resulting in improved performance and better integration with operations.       Capricorn Copper is an established copper mine ~120kms north of Mount Isa. Capricorn Copper Mine is a joint venture project between Lighthouse Minerals and EMR Capital. The joint venture purchased the former Mount Gordon Mine when it was in Care and Maintenance and I was part of the team tasked with restarting operations. I lead a team of five people that achieved:Successfully negotiated and obtained the Environmental Authority Amendment required to re-start operations. This involved high level technical input and extensive liaison with the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection.Developed and implemented a new HSEC Management System.Developed the Emergency Management Plan at site and corporate level.Refurbishment of the site medical facility and established a Mines Rescue Team with new equipment, ambulance and facilities. Established community consultation processes with neighbouring land owners, Indigenous Groups and other interested parties. Show less
